Generally speaking,there are some main parameters for mud pump:pump flow, pump head lift, pump power, pump rotary speed, efficiency, NPSH and so on.
(1), the flow of pump
The flow rate of the sand pump is the amount of liquid that is pumped out in one unit time,commonly referred to an hour. Or called qv as volume flow, the unit is m³ / s or m³ / h.If qm represents mass flow, the unit is kg / s. Than we can say: qm = ρqv.(ρ refers to the liquid density)
(2), sand pump head lift:
The head lift of the sand pump is the added energy per unit weight of liquid from the pump inlet to the pump outlet, which is the effective energy obtained by the 1N liquid through the pump. Its unit is N * m / N = m, that is the pumping liquid column height. The head lift is mainly reflected the increased liquid pressure.
(3), the power of sand pump:
Pump power usually refers to the input power, that is, the prime mover to the pump shaft power, expressed in N, the unit is W or KW.
(4), the rotary speed of the sand pump:
Rotary speed is referred as the number of round the pump turns in a unit time, generally used N said, the unit is r / min.
(5), efficiency:
The effective power of the pump is expressed by Ne, which is the effective energy obtained from the pump in the unit time, Ne = gρqvH. The pump efficiency is the ratio of the effective power compared to the shaft power, ie η = Ne / N. It reflects the degree of energy loss in the pump. Losses in the pump can generally be divided into: volume loss (energy loss caused by flow leakage), flow loss, mechanical loss (bearing, seal and wheel friction loss).
(6), NPSH:
It is also called net positive sucking head.It is the main parameters that reflects the cavitation performance, generally expressed in NPSH, the unit is m.
